Statement from the Kremlin: "Red Army forces poured into Trabizon, Turkey today with little resistance...Turkish Citizens were forced to watch as Soviet Infantry marched by the town plaza in a victory celebration..." Elsewhere, to the South of Trabizon, Soviet Armor overran another Turkish Cavalry Division..."

Premier Stalin stated, "So much for Turkish and Italian forces defending Turkey on their own...we notice that the Germans have moved substantial artillery and other forces into the theater." He also stated, "Our armored units are anxious to engage the 127 Panzer Corps near Istanbul...we look forward to bloodying German Tanks for the first time..."

Meanwhile, The Red Army has bolstered the Romanian Front in anticipation of Axis activity there...

March 1939
Pravda
Boris Bezinsky Reporting

Disturbing news leaked out of the Turkish Front today...it was said that a massive 500 German bomber airstrike struck two Soviet Armored Corps Northwest of Mosul and knocked out 200 soviet tanks. The Kremlin could not be reached for comment and remained uncharacteristically quiet the past few days, after the reports surfaced. Heavy artillery fire and further air raids were reported from both sides of the front lines.

April 1939

The Reich has confirmed that General Heinz Gudarian was dispatched to the Turkish front some months ago. His arrival on the scene with the 8th Army made up of heavy artillery regiments, multiple Panzer Corps, and several elite mountain infantry units, supported by the 8th Luftwaffe Wing has produced immediate results.

Heavy artillery and bombers raids has essentially decimated the Russian lines. The Russian armor and infantry alike were mowed down like butter by the Panzer Corps....the Russian are scrambling for the hills. The 8th army will soon push into Russian and British territory in effort to stabilize the lines.

In other news, the Wehrmacht launched simultaneous raids on Amsterdam and Gibralter; both were successful. British naval losses exceed some 50 ships including capital ships, cargo ships and, tens of thousands of lives.

There was a further statement issued by the Reich; rumors fly that some country has been attempting to influence the sovereign German ally, Hungary. Let it be known to all that any attempt to influence Hungary or Poland by any power will result in swift and decisive retaliation.

The Reich felt it was necessary to send a warning to the allies about their meddling in continental European affairs. This was warning was delivered by bombing raids over Southampton. While these raids were limited to military targets; terror bombing raids will be used, if necessary.

The Kremlin reports heavy action along the Turkish Front. While heavy losses were sustained, the front remains intact. Substantial German armor, artillery and air forces were noted in the AO. So much for the Italians and Turkish forces being able to handle the mighty Soviet Army alone.

In a prepared statement issued by Stalin, he stated, "We would rather fight the Hun in Turkey rather than in Russia. To this end, our plan has succeeded. Mother Russia will prevail!"

China notes with alarm the advances of German forces in Europe. There is little we can do, but it would be very bad if Germany established hegemony.

China continues to spend its meager defense budget on research.

We have improved the defense infrastructure.

News from the Pacific. Japan has been on the offensive in Summer/Fall in the Pacific. The oil fields at Brunei and Balikpapan have been taken as well as the cities of Surabaja and Makasar. In Oct the British sent the entire Far East fleet to oppose the Japanese landings at Balaipapan but soon discovered that the Japanese force was well protected by naval air. The Far East Fleet took shelter in the harbor of Surabaya where it was captured and sunk by a Japanese marine invasion. GB also sent a force of about 100 SMG to the hex just south of Balikpapan using 10 large cargo ships. This force has not yet been dealt with but the cargo ships were all sunk.
This concludes the opening phase of the war against GB in the Pacific. The British have lot about 150 naval forces counting warships, submarines, and cargo ships. These losses included 2 carriers, 5 battleships and several heavy cruisers.

China watches as our Japanese neighbor goes from victory to victory.

China is impressed with what we see of the Japanese military. They are in excellent shape in Asia.
